Avalanche Courses for the Professional

After much work and preparation AAS is pleased to announce its provisional status as an American Avalanche Association Professional Course Provider. We are one of six avalanche schools in the country to offer courses at the professional level.

This summer we submitted our curriculum for rigorous peer review and all of our senior instructors have attended pro-training workshops out-of-state to ensure quality and consistency in our instruction at the national level. Professional providers will be audited in the field this winter and granted full status in 2018-19 season. This industry wide education transition has been in the works for years.

So- Are your ready for a Pro level course?

Professional courses are designed for avalanche professionals either employed or seeking employment in the avalanche industry. Applicants are screened to make sure they meet prior learning and employment guidelines. Throughout the course students are evaluated and tested on knowledge, skills, and abilities- which requires rigorous study, completion of assignments, and both written and practical testing.
